may is for moms: an interview with my child

Thank you to everyone who linked up for part one and part two of May is for Moms. I read every single post and loved all of the thoughtful answers. I can't wait to read this week's posts.

In celebration of Mother's Day, I decided to do a three part linkup. I came up with three sets of questions and shared them, so that you all could join me. Then I asked three lovely ladies to join me in hosting the linkup: Samantha, Amber and Mandi. We would really love it if you would answer the questions below in a post and link it up for part three of May is for Moms. You can find the introduction post here and the post with all three sets of questions here.

[glam bag] spring fling

In case you didn't know, it's Friday. The best day of the week. Let's celebrate by taking a look at May's Glam Bag from Ipsy. I'm serious y'all, if you're going to do any monthly beauty subscriptions, then make it the Glam Bag. This months bag is fantastic.

Yaby Concealer Refill
This was just a small sample size of concealer from Yaby. I think an earlier bag had a container that holds several of these small samples.

Zoya Nail Polish
A full sized bottle of nail polish in Blu by Zoya. The color is cuter on than in the bottle. It also goes on really well. Retails for $8.

Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss
Full sized organic lip gloss. It smells delicious and makes my lips colorful and shiny. $48 for a 4 pack with each color they make, so $12 for the one in my bag.

Pacifica Body Butter
Creamy lotion that smells like a cupcake. It's got a little bit of shimmer to it as well. Great for your legs in the summer. Mini tube (2 oz) retails for $7.

Pacifica Roll On Perfume
Full size roll on perfume in Island Vanilla. I've been using this all week and I love it. A little on my wrists and behind my ears. It lasts all day. Retails for $12.

Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow
This was a little bonus for active Ipsy members. Full size sparkly, metallic eyeshadow in a dark purple shade called Intergalactic. Retails for $20.

As you can see, this months bag was fabulous. I love every single thing in it. And the best part? The whole bag retails for $58 and I only paid $10. (Shipping is free!) If you're not a Glam Bag subscriber, you need to be. Go here to subscribe using my referral code.

meet my co-big

Wifessionals

Some of you may know about the Bigs and Littles program. It was created for veteran bloggers to help new bloggers figure out all of the ins and outs, grow their blog, network, etc. Sign ups open every other month and the last time they opened, I decided to join. Now I'm not sure how things were supposed to be organized, but I did not sign up as a big. We received our partners names and I just assumed I was the little, since that's what I signed up to be. It just so happens that my partener Chelsee thought the same thing. She contacted one of the creators who said they don't really label the participants. (Which confused me, since it's called "Bigs and Littles" and the point is for bigger bloggers to help smaller bloggers.) Instead of trying to sort out who was big and who was little (our blogs are pretty evenly matched) we decided to be co-bigs. I posted on her blog on Tuesday and answered the same questions that she is answering for me today.

1. When and why did you start your blog?
It all began in March of 2012, I honestly started following one blogger and in the at the time I was getting hit pretty hard on Facebook with people asking for information on products and tutorials, so I decided what better way to give them what they want then to start a blog. Specifically, I wanted to start a Beauty Blog to provide a forum to answer their questions and to help anyone needing it.

2. What is your top blog goal this year?
I would say that my overall top goal is to grow my blog. I have made immense progress over the past few months and I hope to continue this. I also, now that I have over a year of blog experience, would like to help other that have questions about blogging and anything Beauty!

3. How do you balance your blog and your personal life?
Is there ever such a thing? This is a tough one, because it seems to be something that everyone including myself constantly struggles with. Honestly.. Sometimes I just have to turn my phone on silent and step away from the computer. It truly is hard trying to manage my online life and personal life, but I love how busy my life is and wouldn't change anything. It just takes lots of pre-planning and scheduling.

4. What is your number one pet peeve in terms of blogging?
I would have to say that number one pet peeve is silent readers. I am of course guilty of this myself, but l would love for more people to comment. I know it is crucial to bloggers, because I know if no one comments on a certain post then I think that they are not interested in that and may not write it again.

5. What can people expect when they visit your blog?
On my blog you will find a real straight forward person. There is truly someone behind my blog, I promise. Since my blog is mainly Beauty related, you will find just about anything on beauty on my blog. I have tutorials, reviews, tips, hauls, and just about anything else you can think of. I am known for my honesty and this exhibited in the many product reviews that you will see on my blog. If I believe that the product truly sucks, then I will tell you that it sucks. I am all out not wasting my money. In addition, I provide tips and answer questions to just about anything. Many time a week I get emails asking how to do specific things with html codes and blogger. If you talk to some of my readers/sponsors, you will find that I am full of all kinds of random knowledge. I have been through so much in my life that I find that writing this blog truly makes me happy. I love sharing my own experiences with each of you. I pretty much just write as I think, without editing anything… so most of the time you can read how my day is truly going. Here you will find laughter, love and the basic struggles that I go through as I try to find my place in this world.
